Gift Store Jury Schedule for 2013

For Merchandise Consideration

The 2013 Jury dates:

Feb 16,  March 16,  April 13,  May 18,  June 15 and July 20 (All jury dates are on Saturdays, Hours from 1 to 2 PM) Juries will be held at Rooster Rock State Park in the Park Office  (**Directions below).

The Friends of Vista House Gift Store at Crown Point State Park is looking for high quality art and hand made crafts, gifts, and toys. Jury acceptance will be primarily based on whether the item meets the requirements of the Gift Gallery Mission statement (see below), as well as quality, pricing, and display availability.

Jury applicants will be greeted by a representative of the Friends of Vista House, and items will be juried in the order of arrival. Jury information and applications will be available there, but it would be very helpful and a time-saver for you and the jury team if you would download our application here and bring it completed along with the items to be reviewed.

If possible please arrive at the beginning of the session. Jury hour is from 1 to 2 pm.


The Friends of Vista House Interpretive Store Mission Statement:

“To provide visitors to the Vista House with items which are interpretive of the Vista House, the Columbia River Gorge, the State of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. The items selected for display and sale in the Interpretive Store may include Gorge history, flora, fauna, geology and geography, Northwest Native American culture, and items related to the Historic Columbia River Highway. Vista House is dedicated to Oregon Pioneers, so items relating to pioneer crafts and skills are also appropriate.  Exceptional quality is a requirement for sales items.”

**Directions to Rooster Rock State Park – Coming from either East or West on I-84, take Exit 25 just East of the Corbett Exit. Enter Rooster Rock State Park and if there is a staff person at the Entrance Building, tell them you are attending the Friends of Vista House Jury Meeting and they will allow you to enter the park no-charge. October 1, 2012:  Vista House is now closed for the remainder of 2012.

The Historic Columbia River Highway viaduct reconstruction at Crown Point is scheduled continue throughout the winter. The 100 year old concrete supports on the cliff side of Crown Point are being reinforced and replaced as needed, and sections of the Highway are being repaved and restored. The Historic Highway is closed from Larch Mountain Road to Latourelle, and there will be no public motor, bicycle, or foot traffic allowed during this time.

Vista House Reopens in March

VISTA HOUSE will reopen for the 2011 season, FRIDAY, MARCH 11, 2011. The Gift Gallery and Espresso Bar will also reopen. Hours will be 10 AM – 4 PM through April 15 and then change to 9 AM – 6 PM through mid-October. For more information, call (503) 695-2230.
The Gift Gallery offers many unique and hand-crafted items from local artisans – you will find the perfect gift for friends, family – and yourself! Opening weekend of Vista House at Crown Point! We will be opened from 10am - 4pm daily starting March 1st! That includes the coffee shop and gift shop so come on in and say hello!.

The winter weather in the Columbia River Gorge can be unpredictable and the weather at Crown Point even more so! The Vista House will not open if it is too windy or there is ice on the roads, and the determination whether to open will be made each Saturday and Sunday morning throughout the winter. You may call the Vista House directly at 503-695-2240 to see if it is open on any winter weekend day.
